General & Getting Started

What is OCDfeat?

OCDfeat is a secure, web-based platform designed to standardize and streamline the management of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) homework. It allows therapists to digitally assign customized exposures, monitor patient progress in real-time, and automate the scoring of clinical assessments, eliminating the administrative burden of paper tracking and manual calculations.

Who is OCDfeat designed for?

Currently, OCDfeat is built for licensed mental health professionals who specialize in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), including psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, and counselors who use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

We are currently working on making the app available for patients only, so if you’re on a waitlist or not working with a therapist, you can track your obsessions, compulsions, ERP work and journaling on your own.

How much does OCDfeat cost?

OCDfeat is a subscription-based platform for clinicians and practices and we strive to make this as cost effective as possible. Our pricing starts at $49 per provider per month with discounted pricing if you choose the yearly subscription.

Can I try OCDfeat for free?

Yes. All new accounts get a 7-day free trial. You can sign up here.

Is OCDfeat available as a mobile app?

OCDfeat is a web-based application that can be used on a mobile device (phone or tablet) via a web browser. Patients can save a bookmark on their phone to have it show up as an icon for easy access, otherwise they can save a bookmark on their phone for their web browswer of choice. Be on the lookout for a mobile app in the future.

Do I need to have a therapist to use OCDfeat?

At this time, OCDfeat is best used when working with a therapist. We are developing an app for use without a therapist that will be available in the future.

Clinical Functionality

How does OCDfeat improve patient compliance with ERP homework?

By moving homework to a dedicated mobile-friendly web-based platform, OCDfeat makes tracking easy and immediate for patients. The ability for patients to track compulsions and log exposure success instantly—anywhere, anytime—reduces friction, leading to more consistent and higher quality data collection between sessions.

Can I customize ERP tasks for each patient?

Yes. The platform allows therapists to easily create, customize, and assign specific ERP tasks tailored to each patient’s hierarchy and unique OCD presentation. You maintain complete control over the content and parameters of the exposures assigned.

How do I review a patient’s progress between sessions?

The platform provides therapists with a real-time dashboard showing detailed logs of completed exposures, recorded compulsion frequency, assessment scores, and patient-reported distress levels. This gives you clear, insightful data before the patient even walks in the door, allowing you to maximize therapeutic time.

Which clinical assessments does OCDfeat automate scoring for?

OCDfeat automates the scoring and data output for several key assessments used in OCD treatment. A sampling of scales include:

  • C-FOCI: Children’s Florida Obsessive Compulsive Inventory a brief, standardized assessment tool used to measure obsessive-compulsive symptoms in children and adolescents.
  • Compulsive Activities Checklist is used primarily in clinical OCD practice and treatment planning, particularly with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
  • CY-BOCS the gold-standard clinician-administered tool for assessing OCD symptoms in children and adolescents.
  • Decisional Balance Worksheet a classic and powerful motivational tool used in OCD and anxiety treatment, especially when clients feel ambivalent about giving up compulsions or avoidance behaviors.
  • Family Accommodation Scale for OCD Self Report for caregivers to fill out to assess the extent to which family members accommodate a child’s or adolescent’s OCD symptoms.
  • General Anxiety Disorder-7 a 7-item self-report questionnaire used to screen for and assess the severity of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
  • Obsessive Concerns Checklist designed to help therapists and clients identify specific obsessions, particularly in the context of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy.
  • Patient Health Questionnaire-9 a widely used self-report screening tool for depression.
  • Screen for Child Related Anxiety Disorders a widely used tool for assessing anxiety symptoms in children and adolescents.
  • Y-BOCS the gold standard for assessing OCD in adults.
  • Y-BOCS II the updated version of the original Y-BOCS.
  • Y-BOCS Self Report the patient-completed version of the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale. It’s designed to measure OCD severity without requiring a clinician-administered interview.
How does automated scoring save me time?

Automated scoring removes the need for manual calculation and transcription of assessment results. When a patient completes a designated assessment within the platform, the raw scores are instantly processed and recorded, allowing you to use that valuable time for clinical intervention rather than administration.

Can I request assessments be added to the platform?

Yes. We are committed to including all relevant clinical tools. We automatically integrate all publicly available assessments and proactively seek permission from authors for copyrighted scales. Users are welcome to submit requests for new assessments at any time at feedback@ocdfeat.com.

Does OCDfeat integrate with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems?

We recognize that EHR integration is crucial and have the technical capability to integrate with EHR systems. Request integration at support@ocdfeat.com. Currently, all patient progress, notes, and assessment scores are easily exportable as secure PDFs for simple manual import or documentation into any EHR system.

Can I easily export my patient’s data?

We’ve made data from specific features available for export as PDFs at any time so you can add it to your electronic health record.

Data Security

Is OCDfeat HIPAA compliant?

Yes, OCDfeat takes patient privacy and data security extremely seriously. The platform is designed to meet strict HIPAA compliance standards for handling Protected Health Information (PHI).

How is patient data protected?

All data transmitted and stored on OCDfeat is secured using industry-standard encryption protocols. We use secure AWS servers and enforce rigorous access controls to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

Support & Accessibility

Is there a separate cost or subscription required for my patients?

No. OCDfeat is priced per clinician/practice subscription. There is no additional cost, fee, or subscription required for any of your patients to use the platform for tracking their ERP homework. However, should the patient leave your practice, they will have to subscribe to OCDfeat to have access to their data and share it with any new therapists they see.

What kind of training and support is included with my subscription?

Every subscription includes a personal onboarding session with our team. Our support team is available via email and phone during business hours for any technical questions. Video tutorials and a comprehensive knowledge base is coming soon.
